TURN YOUR SOUND ON

COMMUNICATION AND PROTOCOL

May has been a busy month with the Razzberry, Brass Hat and the Active Wreck.

I would like to thank the Officers and Membership of Voiture 364, Layfayette,
Voiture 510, Andersen, and Voiture 967 of Shelbyville for their Hospitality
to myself and Chef de Chemin de Fer Bernie Sampson.

I would like to thank the Officers and Membership of Voiture 1103 for their
Hospitality at their Formal Wreck and Installation of Officers on May 14th
in Kokomo. They had 7 PG's of their own and 1 from Anderson.

Let's not forget the Grand Promenade in Lafayette, on the 17th, 18th, and
19th of July, 2008. If your Voiture has a Nominee for an Elected Grand Office,
get the Letter of Endorsement to the Grand Correspondant as soon as possible.
I hope to see as many of you at the Grand Promenade as possible.

Yours in Service,

Steve Long

FROM THE GRAND CORRESPONDANT

This is a busy time of year for all Voitures and Grand du Indiana. It is time to tie things up in order to make the
current year successful, and to prepare for the upcoming year. Locale Correspondants do this by ensuring the
forms in the Petite Communique are completed and sent to the appropriate Directeur. This documents all the
good works of the Voiture Locale. The Locale Correspondants then complete the Grand Certification forms in
order to be in good standing for the upcoming year. The Grand Directeurs compile all the Petite Communique
forms and forward them to the appropriate Nationale Directeur. I use the Grand forms to document Voiture
Delegates for the upcoming election. I certify the officers of the Voiture Locales, produce the Grand Directories
for the upcoming year. I compile the other forms for action at the Grand Promenade. In other words, we all
have a job to do, and this is the time of year where our job performance shows results. If there is one weak link
in this chain, some Voiture, and most certainly Grand du Indiana, will suffer. Let us all become keenly aware of
our sworn duties and complete them to the best of our ability.

Thank you,
Roger Watson

to the Grand Directeur's so they can get their reports filled out for the Grand Promenade and then
to the Nationale Directeurs.
All paper work should be to the Grand Directeurs by June 1.

CHEF DE TRAIN (2)

I'm writing this on Mothers Day so we are getting closer to our Grand Promenade in July in Lafayette, In. At the time
of writing we have 5 Voitures at 3 and less for 100% and 10 total with 10 of less. There are 31 Voitures at 100% or
better, out of 52 Voitures. I want to commend those of you that have worked so hard on their Membership. I also
want to thank Al Wemer, 9th Dist. Cheminot for achiving 100% by the Spring Cheminot.

If there are any voyageurs out there that would aspire to have an office in the Grand du Indiana, they need to contact
their Dist. Cheminot or the Chef de Trains. Anyway, don't give up now, we still have a ways to go on membership.
We are still 209 cards short of 100%, lets make it all the way! It would be the first time for several years that that has
happened. Thanks to all again for working so hard on their 2008 Membership. Let's do it all over again next year!!!!

Membership by Locale from Nationale

We are having a Memorial Monument made that will replicate the original monument that was
at the original burial site of patients from 1896 to 1921. It will be placed at the Carville Cemetery for
all to see. It will be dedicated at the annual 40 & 8 visit in February 2009. Donations are being asked
